Dosage Guide

Dogs: 0.1 mg/kg PO once daily (initial 0.2 mg/kg). Cats: 0.05 mg/kg PO once daily (label dose, short-term only). Rabbits: 0.3-0.5 mg/kg PO once daily. Guinea pigs: 0.2-0.3 mg/kg PO once daily.

Side Effects

  • GI upset (vomiting, diarrhea, inappetence)
  • Renal impairment with chronic use or dehydration
  • GI ulceration (rare at therapeutic doses)

Important Warnings

  • !Metacam label for cats is single-dose injectable; oral use is off-label

Contraindications
