Dosage Guide

Cats: 0.25-0.5 mg/kg PO once daily. Dogs: 0.25-0.5 mg/kg PO once daily. May increase up to 1 mg/kg based on response.

Side Effects

  • Mild GI upset
  • Hypotension (uncommon at therapeutic doses)
  • Lethargy
  • Hyperkalemia (rare)

Important Warnings

  • !Monitor blood pressure and renal function before and during treatment
  • !Use with caution in sodium-depleted or dehydrated animals
  • !May cause reversible acute renal failure in animals with undiagnosed renal artery stenosis

Contraindications

Do not use this medication in the following situations:

  • Known hypersensitivity to ACE inhibitors
  • Pregnancy (teratogenic)
